ROCK senior pitcher Chelsea Eckert was dominant in the circle with a 0.0 ERA and was named the Tournament MVP.
Having previously won a "platinum" berth to PGF earlier this spring, the ROCK secured the highest level "premier" berth with a perfect 5-0 record through the weekend, defeating the NY Diamond Dolls (5-4), the NJ Nightmare Gold (3-0), Team Long Island Gold (6-1) and Virginia Glory Gold (9-1).
Tournament dates are July 26-August 2. Select games are typically broadcast on ESPN.
Edison, NJ -- On Sunday June 22, ROCK Gold clinched its third straight berth to the Premier Girls Fastpitch National Championship in Huntington Beach, California. The PGF National Championship is widely regarded to be the toughest women's fastpitch competition in the world for high school aged players. The tournament also doubles as one of the best college recruiting venues of the season.
